This is a front cover and two page spread for a children's book. The illustrations were created by de-bossing the illustration board and then coloring the framework in with colored pencils. I finished it off by adding an outline in technical pen to give the shapes more form.
After that part was finished I photographed it and brought it into Photoshop. I added a little more contrast and then moved into Adobe Illustrator. There I created the layout of the books cover and pages. I finished by laying out the body copy and title of the story.
This is probably one of my favorite illustrations to date. I love the colors and the story. As a child, books with little hidden character were my favorite! So I decided to do just that. On each page I hid the green snake, along with a few colorful little bugs.
